For the 2014 Student Game Developer Alliance Game Jam, we were given 48 hours to make a game with the theme “serious business.” So we made a game about making games in far too little time! You start out with a measly grant of $6,000, and need to place rooms and hire talent to begin the arduous process of making a publishable game. The money you make on each published product is dependent on the four main factors of game quality: programming, art, testing, and marketing. The better your staff and office are, the faster they work – and the more you have to pay them! Getting off the ground is always the hardest part, but once you have money, you’ll never be the same.
